Why Does Starting a Business Feel Like Climbing Everest? It’s thrilling, inspiring, and…wildly overwhelming.

Updated: 5 days ago

If you’re thinking about starting a product business, there’s a few headaches you can absolutely expect.

⚠️Uncertainty Galore: The startup path is paved with uncertainty, from product features to market fit to how to reach customers in this distracted world. It’s like sailing with a map that keeps changing. (I’ve never sailed but I can resist an analogy.)

⚠️Wearing All the Hats: As a founder (especially if solo), you’re the captain, the crew, the fortune teller, the “Principal’s office”, the car salesman, I mean the list is way long. From marketing guru to financial wizard, it’s a lot to manage and manage well.

⚠️ Fear of the Unknown: The fear of making the wrong move can be paralyzing especially when funding is limited. It’s walking on a tightrope without a safety net, one off move can dig you into another year of delayed profits.

⚠️ Speaking of cash. You’ll get cozy on the Financial Rollercoaster: Like life, financial spend can fluctuate from year to year based on the twists and turns that show up. As a Founder you must take chances and chances cost cash. That’s a lot of weight to carry while switching hats all day.

To sum it up; uncertainty, split focus, fear and funky Numbers will show up to haunt you in your business. But what makes all the difference?
